Just got back from Nigel's funeral. His family was really touched to see his 'RAF mates' there. It was lovely to hear the very sincere tributes to Nige, including one from our very own Neil 'Fish' Haddock!
It was also good to see some old friends again, but let's hope the next time we see each other, it will be for a reunion rather than such a sad event.

Shocked and saddened to hear the news. Rog Barber told me on Thursday. Sorry I won't be able to make the service, Nige was a very dear friend and one of the kindest people I know.

We were shocked to hear the news and won't get to the funeral, Bruce (Andy) is out of area (RAF speak) Oman so I am writing on his behalf. We were with Nige at Gatow 79-83 but lost touch since then, was he still in the RAF? Married? Children? Was this unexpected??
Only just registered on this site because of this news but will no doubt continue to keep abreast of things here as we are almost 'old boys'.

I intend to be at the funeral, if it's where I think it is, that is, just up the road from 'Q'. If so I will see whomever there.

Totally shocked by the news of Nige. I've heard that the funeral is in Cheltenham on Monday but don't know the time yet.

That is really sad news! Vicki and I both knew Nigel and remember him as a nice guy. Using the adjective nice is often regarded as derogatory but in Nigel's case it definitely was not. So sad to see someone so young going.

Unfortunately, I haven't heard of any funeral arrangements yet but will let you know when I do. I'm going to try my best to make it too.

UPDATE: I have just found out that it will be on Monday 7th July at 11:00 at Cheltenham Crematorium.

I am very shocked and saddened by this news. Nige was well-liked by everybody - a modest, unassuming man who would always help out friends and colleagues. I am sure that many will wish to pay their respects to a guy who will be long remembered.

Terrible news indeed. It's just so sad to see such a nice guy pass away so early in his life. We had some great times on D Watch in Berlin and Nige will be sadly missed. Please post details of his funeral Graham as I'm sure that many would like to pay their last respects.

I am also shocked by Nigel's untimely death. He was ever friendly and pleasant and a good colleague.
